While a top priority is to keep your websites and services online, our highest priority is the safety of our engineers. When working with equipment such as UPS (massive battery arrays), generators, switching equipment and multiple sources from the mains, we ensure our team are safe. In this case, a voltage sensor was due for replacement, we had switched over to bypass this unit, however for a reason yet unknown a safety warning was triggered which resulted in the shut down of power for about 9 minutes. The full reason is yet unknown, we have our expert data centre team, as well as the equipment providers, working to understand this fully. Right now we can assure you that power is flowing to the data centre as it should be.

Heart Internet Uptime

In support to Heart Internet we thought we would share our uptime monitoring results that we have on clients sites. We have found that as a hosting company they have been very reliable much better than others we use ourselves and for clients with hosting at various companies. This issue is the same issue we all face. Last week BT was hit and went down, the week before HSBC was hit.

Our uptime monitoring on average across sites is as follows:-

2014 = 99.99%
2015 = 99.98%
2016 = 98.05% – increasing as the down time length continues.

Telent Technology and the Rail Internet of Things

Telent Technology are working with Microsoft and CGI to help the London Underground modernize the systems that securely monitor, manage and automate its things, everything from escalators, lifts and HVAC controls to closed-circuit video and communication systems. Data from sensors and intelligent edge devices — to closely monitor temperature, vibration, humidity, fault warnings and system alerts — are all available in one central location to provide access to needed information on mobile apps, via a Web browser or through text alerts.
In this video, Steve Pears, managing director of Rail for telent, discusses how telent is transforming its business with new services for the London Underground, such as automating manual processes, spotting equipment issues in real time before they cause service disruptions and tracking equipment performance to support infrastructure planning.

Search Engines Promotion

Having a website that looks great and functions well with everything your target audience needs to find is step one to your online success.

The next step is search engine promotion which involves carrying out on-page changes to make the website 100% friendly to search engines and this means making it Google friendly.

An SEO Company like Chameleon will look over the website using software and manual checks from experience and also check the competitors actions in the sector. Then carry out carefully planned improvements to enhance the website for search engines.

Visually 99% of the time things do not change, it is coding changes and additions that required for the likes of Google to better understand the website.

This will result in the website being promoted within the search results because the website is now relevant to specific keywords.

For example Google “Birmingham SEO Company” and look for Chameleon. Our website appears number one in the organic search results because we are most relevant for the search within Birmingham.

Every house is different and we all have different issues in one way or anther.

How To Stop Mould In Your Home – Water Droplets in Roof

The director of Chameleon was faced with water droplets in the loft on inside of the roof and this was quickly making boxes in the loft and items mouldy.

Thanks to the Internet he did some research and found this video:-

Envirovent PIV Positive Input Ventilation EEL Edmundson Electrical Aberystwyth

PIV explanation - guaranteed cure to condensation and mould

He then did some research into PIV Positive Input Ventilation systems and found this product:-

He has purchased and installed the Nuaire Drimaster 2000 and it didn’t take more than 1 hour to complete.

After 24 hours the loft was nearly completely dry and within the home the air felt better which was a health improvement he was not looking for at the time.

He was so impressed with t he improvements we have written this small blog post about this in case it helps other realise a product that many do not know even exist.
