Chameleon
The Chameleon’s official family name is Chamaeleonidae. These amazing creatures are very distinctive in shape and colour and stand out from all lizards across the world.
There are approximately 180 species known to-date and they all come in a variety of shapes, sizes and colour. The main factor of the Chameleon is that many of the species have the ability to change colour.
Chameleons have unusual feet called zygodactylous which are used for climbing and a very long, rapidly expanding tongue which is used to catch its prey.
The Chameleon is found in warm habitats such as rain forests and deserts in countries such as Africa, Madagascar, Southern Europe, and Southern Asia.
Due to there interesting abilities they are often kept as pets now across the world.
The most common types are Veiled Chameleon, Jackson’s Chameleon, Panther Chameleon, Bearded Pygmy Chameleon, Spectral Pygmy Chameleon and Usumbara Pitted Pygmy Chameleon.
